To create this design i used Illustrator and Photoshop,
i started by drawing an S shape with the pen tool on Illustrator and then reflected it so they joined together. I then went on photoshop, painted the background black and lightly added some grey spots using the paintbrush tool. Next, i added noise to the background and copied my design from Illustrator onto Photoshop. I then duplicated the layer 4 times and rotated each one 90 degrees in opposite directions. Next i added colour to each point of the shapes using the paintbrush tool and then i changed the layer blending mode to dissolve, i then created a new layer for each individual shape and merged it with each colour layer to smooth it out. Then i had to select each shape, inverse it and delete the colour layers, this removes the rest of the colours. I then created a new layer and selected the brush tool to colour the bottom of the left facing shape and top of the right facing shape in white, then changed the layer blend to overlay. Next i added a new layer and used the paint brush tool to put a large white dot in the middle of the shapes, after this i had to change the layer mode to dissolve and then merge it with a new layer and changed that mode to dissolve, and to get rid of some of the bright white i added a layer mask to it. Then i added some black using the paint brush tool to cover the design to darken the image on the mask area. Next i used the paint brush tool again on a new layer and on all the corners i
used 7 different colours to cover the whole image and corners, i then changed
the layer blend to Overlay. I then used the pen tool with a white brush and used it from the left corner and used it to arch around the curve, i then right clicked and selected stroke path, selected the paths tab, deleted the layer and went back to layers and changed the mode to overlay, i then did this step again on the opposite right point of the shape too. Finally i used the black paint brush tool to go over the design to darken some of the brightness and changed the blend to soft light, i then selected all layers and copied them to a new layer, i then changed the layer blending mode to colour dodge and adjusted the opacity to around 50% so the design is still quite bright.
